This was a four-year long project to document and celebrate the changes in our students during their time at Michigan Engineering. My concept was simple: record short video segments – “Time Capsules” – with students on their first day of classes. Four years later, show them the video and capture their reactions on camera.
It worked beautifully, and accomplished many goals:
- Capturing the energy and excitement of the first week of classes
- Raising awareness of and followers for our video and social media channels among incoming students
- Providing content for our external audiences to see the quality of our incoming students
- Creating a fantastic graduation video that shows off the quality of our education and the growth of our students over the four years.
The project was continued for three consecutive “Time Capsule” years.
